NHS priorities

Whether it’s to prepare for the next Pharmacy Quality Scheme deadline, or to increase your confidence in helping people with a learning disability, this section provides topic-specific pages that link to current NHS priorities. This section will support you in keeping your knowledge and skills up to date in order to provide high-quality pharmacy services and be service-ready.

Clinical pharmacy

Our clinical portfolio is expanding on a frequent basis, helping you to advance your knowledge and skills and deliver medicines optimisation in practice for all sectors of pharmacy. From two new focal points a year to our small group learning for hospital pharmacists – Optimise – this section focuses on clinical pharmacy, diseases and therapeutics.

Public health

The public health agenda is embedded in pharmacy, yet topics such as emergency contraception or stop smoking support are as prevalent as ever. As well as our public health workshops, use this section to access a wide range of resources to assure and maintain your competence, all underpinned by the Declaration of Competence system.

Getting prepared for revalidation

The General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) revalidation process is changing from the end of September. For pharmacy professionals whose registration renewal deadline is after 1 October 2022, the GPhC will require the following for revalidation:

  • four continuing professional development (CPD) records (two of which must be planned events)
  • one peer discussion record
  • one reflective account record.

Reflective accounts should focus on one or more of the following standards:

  • Standard 1: Pharmacy professionals must provide person-centred care.
  • Standard 2: Pharmacy professionals must work in partnership with others.
  • Standard 5: Pharmacy professionals must use their professional judgement.

To assist with meeting these requirements for revalidation, CPPE’s learning programmes are made with your continued professional development in mind. Our learning portfolio can assist you in meeting the standards for pharmacy professionals, and in meeting each of the six specified requirements for revalidation.

Browse our e-assessments, e-courses, e-learningsonline workshops and face-to-face workshops, many of which contain elements of peer discussion, reflective accounts, or both.

You can also visit our Supporting you page, where you will find specific help with revalidation, as well as useful information about the number of ways we can support you at a time of great change in pharmacy. You can also find further guidance, learning and external resources on our Revalidation learning gateway.
