NHS priorities

Whether it’s to prepare for the next Pharmacy Quality Scheme deadline, or to increase your confidence in helping people with a learning disability, this section provides topic-specific pages that link to current NHS priorities. This section will support you in keeping your knowledge and skills up to date in order to provide high-quality pharmacy services and be service-ready.

Clinical pharmacy

Our clinical portfolio is expanding on a frequent basis, helping you to advance your knowledge and skills and deliver medicines optimisation in practice for all sectors of pharmacy. From two new focal points a year to our small group learning for hospital pharmacists – Optimise – this section focuses on clinical pharmacy, diseases and therapeutics.

Public health

The public health agenda is embedded in pharmacy, yet topics such as emergency contraception or stop smoking support are as prevalent as ever. As well as our public health workshops, use this section to access a wide range of resources to assure and maintain your competence, all underpinned by the Declaration of Competence system.

CPPE Cancellation policy

CPPE is funded by NHS England and we have a responsibility to show that we use this taxpayer investment prudently and offer learning opportunities to as many people as possible. Every face-to-face or online workshop that we host is a significant investment of money not only for development, printing and distribution of learning materials, but also in costs associated with using venues across England and the CPPE tutors, speakers, medics and actors to lead the workshops. Our cancellation policy seeks to make sure that where people cancel a booking, don’t attend, or leave during the course of an event, some of the funding is returned and reinvested in learning opportunities for the pharmacy profession.

Our first step is always to seek information from you on why you cancelled, didn’t attend or left early so that we are fair and reasonable in levying a charge.

We have written this policy so you can see what will happen if you cancel your booking or if CPPE has to cancel a booking.

If you need to cancel a booking:

  1. CPPE will only process a booking if you have agreed that we may have to charge you for cancelling or for not turning up at an event.
  2. To cancel a booking please go to 'My bookings' on your MyCPPE.
  3. If you need to cancel within ten days of the event, then you also have to tell us why you need to cancel, in writing, either in an email to info@cppe.ac.uk  or when you cancel using the website.
  4. When we receive your cancellation, we will reply to you and ask for further details if necessary. We will give you a reference to use when you communicate about the cancellation. We will email you within seven days of the event.
  5. We do not charge a fee if you cancel ten or more days before the workshop date.
  6. If you cancel less than ten days, but two or more days before the workshop, we will charge a £25 fee unless there are extenuating circumstances.
  7. If you give us less than two days' notice, or if you leave the event early, we will charge you:
  8. If you do not attend an event and you don’t tell us in advance, we will charge you:
  9. Your cancellations are reviewed by the cancellation team. CPPE reserves the right to waive the fee under certain circumstances and we try to be fair and consistent in making this decision.
  10. If you don't pay the cancellation charge then we will pause your access to the CPPE website and our portfolio of learning and assessments for a six-month period, or until you make the payment (whichever is sooner).
