This section will support you in keeping your knowledge and skills up to date in order to provide high-quality pharmacy services and be service-ready.

Clinical pharmacy

Our clinical portfolio is expanding on a frequent basis, helping you to advance your knowledge and skills and deliver medicines optimisation in practice for all sectors of pharmacy. From two new focal points a year to our small group learning for hospital pharmacists – Optimise – this section focuses on clinical pharmacy, diseases and therapeutics.

Public health

The public health agenda is embedded in pharmacy, yet topics such as emergency contraception or stop smoking support are as prevalent as ever. As well as our public health workshops, use this section to access a wide range of resources to assure and maintain your competence, all underpinned by the Declaration of Competence system.

Life skills - developing your potential e-course open for booking

We are pleased to announce the launch of our new e-course: Life skills – developing your potential.

The programme has been designed to help you develop a range of life skills that will allow you to reach your full potential. Learners will build both a greater self-awareness and a personal skill set for both professional and personal use.

Each week, learners will be set a series of challenges and exercises designed to help them reflect on your practice, identify ways to develop your potential and learn new skills. We estimate that the course will require a commitment of four hours of learning each week.

Learners will build both a greater self-awareness and a personal skill set for both professional and personal use.

The course includes eight weeks of learning modules, covering:

  • Personal reflection tools.
  • Overcoming barriers and time management.
  • Working in groups and teams.
  • Delegation and assertiveness.
  • Influencing skills and managing anxiety.
  • Effective communication and networking.
  • Coaching, mentoring, managing and helping others learn.
  • Review progress and celebrate success.

One previous learner of the programme said:

This programme has enabled me to become more effective in what I do and to have the confidence to overcome barriers, be more influential, manage people more effectively, be resilient, communicate effectively, network effectively, support others by coaching, mentoring and to have a work/life balance.”

As this is a live course, there will be opportunities to take part in discussion forums with colleagues.
