This programme aims to help you develop the therapeutic knowledge you need to support the clinical management of patients with cardiac arrhythmias. It provides you with an overview of the most common cardiac arrhythmias, and how they are identified and diagnosed in practice.

Learning outcomes

On completion of all aspects of this learning programme, you should be able to:

  • describe the different types of cardiac arrhythmias and their clinical presentation
  • explain how cardiac arrhythmias are diagnosed
  • discuss the impact that living with an arrhythmia may have on the patient, their families and carers
  • appraise the management of atrial fibrillation by reviewing the evidence base and patient perspective
  • assess the contribution of pharmacy professionals to the care of people with arrhythmias and formulate a personal plan to enhance the contribution you make in practice.
