NHS priorities

Whether it’s to prepare for the next Pharmacy Quality Scheme deadline, or to increase your confidence in helping people with a learning disability, this section provides topic-specific pages that link to current NHS priorities. This section will support you in keeping your knowledge and skills up to date in order to provide high-quality pharmacy services and be service-ready.

Public health

The public health agenda is embedded in pharmacy, yet topics such as emergency contraception or stop smoking support are as prevalent as ever. As well as our public health workshops, use this section to access a wide range of resources to assure and maintain your competence, all underpinned by the Declaration of Competence system.

CPPE Optimise programmes

Getting started with research: focus on finding your place

Aim

The aim of this programme is to get you thinking about how you can become involved with research. It signposts to a range of tools and resources to support you as you begin your research journey.

Background learning

The Getting started with research: finding your place Optimise programme assumes you have some prior knowledge of the topic area. If you wish to revise your knowledge, you may find the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) and Royal College of Physicians' joint position statement, Making Research everybody’s business helpful. This statement makes recommendations for a range of stakeholders to improve awareness of the value of clinical research and to make research part of everyday practice for all clinicians.

Small group learning

This workshop involves 45 minutes of preparation for each participant and a 40-minute small group learning session. Across the session’s activities, learners will test their knowledge, debate controversial topics, make justified decisions and discuss how they can become involved in research.
