NHS priorities

Whether it’s to prepare for the next Pharmacy Quality Scheme deadline, or to increase your confidence in helping people with a learning disability, this section provides topic-specific pages that link to current NHS priorities. This section will support you in keeping your knowledge and skills up to date in order to provide high-quality pharmacy services and be service-ready.

Clinical pharmacy

Our clinical portfolio is expanding on a frequent basis, helping you to advance your knowledge and skills and deliver medicines optimisation in practice for all sectors of pharmacy. From two new focal points a year to our small group learning for hospital pharmacists – Optimise – this section focuses on clinical pharmacy, diseases and therapeutics.

Public health

The public health agenda is embedded in pharmacy, yet topics such as emergency contraception or stop smoking support are as prevalent as ever. As well as our public health workshops, use this section to access a wide range of resources to assure and maintain your competence, all underpinned by the Declaration of Competence system.

CPPE makes booking on to learning events even easier

The Centre for Pharmacy Postgraduate Education (CPPE) has improved its website so it is now even easier for pharmacists and registered pharmacy technicians to book on to CPPE learning events.

As a pharmacist or pharmacy technician, you can find and book on to events – including focal point and Route to revalidation workshops – that are running in your local area by simply logging in to the CPPE website at www.cppe.ac.uk (or registering and logging in if they have not already registered), and then looking for your learning programme of choice.*

To find an event taking place close to where you live or work, you can quickly and easily search the site in one of three ways. You can:

  • click on my nearest events on the home page and then type in your postcode; or
  • click on find a programme on the home page, and look through CPPE’s learning programme portfolio by theme or type in a keyword or phrase relating to the learning event you are looking for; or
  • enter your chosen keywords in the field at the top-right corner of any page on the website, and click on Search.

You can then book on to an event by clicking on the or learning icon to the right of the programme title and following the on-screen instructions. Learning materials for the event can also be downloaded for free by clicking on the download icon.

Once you have booked on to an event, CPPE will instantly confirm the booking to you on-screen, and will also send you a booking confirmation email.

Still not sure what to do?

We understand that many of our customers have preferred to book on to events by telephone in the past, rather than via the CPPE website. If you are unsure about how to use the website, or if you have any queries about booking, please call 0161 778 4000 to speak to one of our customer services team.

* Practising pharmacists and registered pharmacy technicians can access CPPE learning materials. To log in or register on the CPPE website, simply click on the login button in the top menu bar and enter your details.
