NHS priorities

Whether it’s to prepare for the next Pharmacy Quality Scheme deadline, or to increase your confidence in helping people with a learning disability, this section provides topic-specific pages that link to current NHS priorities. This section will support you in keeping your knowledge and skills up to date in order to provide high-quality pharmacy services and be service-ready.

Clinical pharmacy

Our clinical portfolio is expanding on a frequent basis, helping you to advance your knowledge and skills and deliver medicines optimisation in practice for all sectors of pharmacy. From two new focal points a year to our small group learning for hospital pharmacists – Optimise – this section focuses on clinical pharmacy, diseases and therapeutics.

Public health

The public health agenda is embedded in pharmacy, yet topics such as emergency contraception or stop smoking support are as prevalent as ever. As well as our public health workshops, use this section to access a wide range of resources to assure and maintain your competence, all underpinned by the Declaration of Competence system.

New Menopause learning gateway launched

We are pleased to announce that we have launched a new dedicated learning gateway on menopause.

The Menopause learning gateway provides core and foundation learning, assessments, and other resources to increase your understanding of the menopause and perimenopause. The gateway contains information on the symptoms people can experience during menopause and perimenopause, and the possible treatment options and lifestyle changes that can be offered to support people and help them manage their symptoms. These resources will help you to adopt a person-centred approach when supporting people who are experiencing these symptoms.

Our learning gateway also provides you with resources to help you to apply this learning to your practice. It will empower you to support people who are experiencing symptoms of menopause and perimenopause and help you to equip them with evidence-based information that allows them to make decisions about their treatment.

In addition to core learning, such as CPPE’s Women’s health: Menopause e-learning, the Menopause learning gateway also contains advanced learning from the British Menopause Society, International Menopause Society, The Faculty of Reproductive and Sexual Health, and more.
