We are delighted to announce the launch of our new e-learning programme – Transgender healthcare: consulting with dignity and respect.
Statistics show that transgender people are not only more likely to get sick, but less likely to seek treatment when they do. We know that many transgender people worry about accessing healthcare services for fear of experiencing discrimination on the grounds of their gender identity or transgender status, and community pharmacy is in an ideal position to provide support.
Our new programme will help you consider how you can make your pharmacy more inclusive and improve the patient experience for the transgender and non-binary community.
The e-learning programme utilises video interview learning to address these issues in relation to community pharmacy practice and discusses some of the measures pharmacy professionals can take, such as use of inclusive language, to make sure they provide a supportive, person-centred service for people in the transgender and non-binary community.
The Transgender healthcare: consulting with dignity and respect programme covers:
The programme is open to pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, pre-registration trainees and CPPE registrants.
