Pain management e-learning programme

We are delighted to announce our new Pain management e-learning programme, developed and provided by the Northern Ireland Centre for Pharmacy Learning and Development (NICPLD). Pain is one of the most common symptoms that causes people to seek medical advice, and requires knowledge and understanding from pharmacy professionals. Pain management covers how to assess a patient’s pain, pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment options and issues for specific patient groups such as older people, infants and people with cancer.

Those suffering from chronic or acute pain require support and optimised treatment, and pharmacy teams in all sectors of healthcare have an important role to play. The e-learning programme will provide the knowledge and expertise to assess, treat and manage pain effectively.

This programme is suitable for pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and pre-registration trainees.
