NHS priorities

Whether it’s to prepare for the next Pharmacy Quality Scheme deadline, or to increase your confidence in helping people with a learning disability, this section provides topic-specific pages that link to current NHS priorities. This section will support you in keeping your knowledge and skills up to date in order to provide high-quality pharmacy services and be service-ready.

Public health

The public health agenda is embedded in pharmacy, yet topics such as emergency contraception or stop smoking support are as prevalent as ever. As well as our public health workshops, use this section to access a wide range of resources to assure and maintain your competence, all underpinned by the Declaration of Competence system.

Primary care pharmacy education

The following pages signpost you to resources supporting you to develop your knowledge and skills working in primary care and general practice. These resources range from programmes available for those looking to move into this area of practice, through to an NHS England funded education pathway which aligns the education requirements of pharmacy professionals with the NHS 10 Year Health Plan and the primary care Network Contract Directed Enhanced Service.

For pharmacy professionals already working in a primary care role but not eligible or able to enrol on the Primary care pharmacy education pathway, we have developed the Primary care learning for all pharmacy professionals’ resource. The resource aims to highlight the range of learning opportunities available for those that want to enhance their knowledge and skills in this sector of practice.
