Early career pharmacists
An early career pharmacist is a pharmacist in the initial stage of their professional practice, typically the first few years after registration. CPPE provides training and resources for early career development, focusing on building core capabilities such as clinical knowledge, consultation skills, decision making and progression towards or consolidation of independent prescribing.
Pharmacists will begin their early career development with different learning needs depending on their independent prescribing status. Those who are independent prescribers (IP) at the point of registration will be supported through the Pharmacist Enhanced Practice Pathway. Those who are not independent prescribers will be supported to be train as IPs.
