Focusing on clinical pharmacy and therapeutics

We chose to focus on acute kidney injury (AKI) for our autumn 2015 campaign because although it is an insidious and life-threatening condition, you and other pharmacy professionals in every sector can help your patients prevent it. Below is a slideshow of the numerous outstanding poster submissions we received during the campaign.

About the campaign

We have joined forces with the UK Renal Registry and their Think Kidneys programme to highlight the risks of acute kidney injury and encourage pharmacy professionals working in all sectors of practice to think about how you can help prevent AKI.

We have posted our new Acute kidney injury distance learning programme, a campaign leaflet containing six challenges and a Think Kidneys leaflet to all registered pharmacy professionals in England, so you should have received your copy by now.

Campaign challenges

Get involved with the campaign and take part in our challenges. There are six to choose from but why not have a go at them all?

1. Watch the Think kidneys – talk kidneys animation and reflect on simple steps you can take that make a big difference.

2. Have a go at our special edition e-challenge that’s all about kidneys (issue 96 – available from 28 October).

3. Join our AKI @WePharmacists Twitter chat at 8:00pm on Thursday 12 November, using the hashtags #CPPEAKI and #thinkkidneys.

4. Read our AKI articles in Pharmacy Magazine and Training Matters (part one and part two) and organise a team meeting to discuss how you can work together to prevent AKI.
