Clinical pharmacy

Our clinical portfolio is expanding on a frequent basis, helping you to advance your knowledge and skills and deliver medicines optimisation in practice for all sectors of pharmacy. From two new focal points a year to our small group learning for hospital pharmacists – Optimise – this section focuses on clinical pharmacy, diseases and therapeutics.

Public health

The public health agenda is embedded in pharmacy, yet topics such as emergency contraception or stop smoking support are as prevalent as ever. As well as our public health workshops, use this section to access a wide range of resources to assure and maintain your competence, all underpinned by the Declaration of Competence system.

Clinical Mentor training - Providing mentoring support to learners - online

The aim of this e workshop is to ensure that clinical mentors have the knowledge of the CPPE primary care education pathway and they have the skills and confidence to provide mentorship to learners on national pathways if requested.

Learning objectives

On completion of all aspects of this learning programme you should be able to:

  • the support available for pharmacy professionals on the national pathways
  • when clinical mentors are used for pharmacy professionals on the pathways
  • the roles and responsibilities of a clinical mentor
  • how to undertake a 1:1 mentoring session and how to structure the meeting
  • the GROW model
  • when and how to refer a pharmacists on
  • record keeping they should make as a clinical mentor.

How to use this programme

Our e-workshops are run online using Zoom video conferencing. When you book onto an e-workshop you will automatically be registered onto the Zoom meeting and will receive emails from the meeting organiser about how to join.
