Clinical pharmacy

Our clinical portfolio is expanding on a frequent basis, helping you to advance your knowledge and skills and deliver medicines optimisation in practice for all sectors of pharmacy. From two new focal points a year to our small group learning for hospital pharmacists – Optimise – this section focuses on clinical pharmacy, diseases and therapeutics.

Public health

The public health agenda is embedded in pharmacy, yet topics such as emergency contraception or stop smoking support are as prevalent as ever. As well as our public health workshops, use this section to access a wide range of resources to assure and maintain your competence, all underpinned by the Declaration of Competence system.

Leadership in primary care - Workshop A: Achieving your potential

This event is only for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians who are taking part in one of the primary care extended education pathways.

The aim of this online workshop is to support pharmacy professionals to explore their personal leadership and the systems they are leading in. There are two online workshops that form part of the 13-week online module Leadership in primary care.

This booking is for Workshop A: Leadership in primary care: Achieving your potential.

This workshop runs from 9.30am to 3.30pm.

Prework

All pathway pharmacy professionals must complete Units 1 to 5 of the Canvas e-course as well as completing MBTI and NHS leadership questionnaires. The MBTI questionnaire details will be emailed out after registering for the online workshop. The NHS leadership questionnaire is outlined in Unit 1 of the Canvas e-course and questions in the pre-workshop sheet.

All prework must be completed for this workshop or you will not be permitted to attend.

Learning outcomes

After working through the e-course and attending this online workshop you will be able to:

  • describe the differences between leadership and management
  • reflect on your personal leadership style and identify strengths and areas for development using the Healthcare Leadership Model
  • consider the leadership skills required to work as an effective member of multidisciplinary teams and influence improvements in care across the wider system
  • explore personal preferences and reflect on how to use your personal preferences in your working environment
  • construct a personal ‘best-fit’ type.

How to use this programme

We deliver our online workshops using Zoom. You will have received a separate email (from the lead tutor via Zoom) with a unique link to join this Zoom event. Please do not share this link with others. The email allows you to add the event to your calendar of choice. If you do this it will save the link for you too. You can also find a copy of your link on the CPPE website in your pending bookings.
Please note:

  • You will need to be connected to the internet for the duration of the online workshop.
  • To get the most from this workshop we recommend that you use a laptop or desktop computer.
  • You will be asked to put your camera on and unmute yourself for some or all of the event.
  • This event must not be undertaken while travelling, or in a public place.
  • We expect you to prepare for our events by completing all pre-workshop activities. Details of these will be emailed to you by the lead tutor or can be found via your pending bookings.

If for any reason you cannot attend the event, you must cancel your place via your Pending bookings on the CPPE website. Failure to do this may result in a cancellation fee and restrictions being placed on your CPPE account.
