Clinical pharmacy

Our clinical portfolio is expanding on a frequent basis, helping you to advance your knowledge and skills and deliver medicines optimisation in practice for all sectors of pharmacy. From two new focal points a year to our small group learning for hospital pharmacists – Optimise – this section focuses on clinical pharmacy, diseases and therapeutics.

Public health

The public health agenda is embedded in pharmacy, yet topics such as emergency contraception or stop smoking support are as prevalent as ever. As well as our public health workshops, use this section to access a wide range of resources to assure and maintain your competence, all underpinned by the Declaration of Competence system.

Interviewing

This programme aims to promote good practice in recruitment by providing step-by-step practical guidance for people who are directly involved in the interviewing process. By reading the guide, completing the activities and watching video examples it will help you understand the theory of effective interviewing and how to apply the specific skills required to put the theory into practice.

Learning objectives

On completion of all aspects of this learning programme you should be able to:

  • understand the the three main theories underpinning effective interviewing
  • describe the four core skills which are essential for effective recruitment
  • prepare well for the interviewing process so that both you and the candidates are clear about the job requirements and how they will be tested
  • review applications appropriately and select the right candidates for interview
  • describe how to conduct an effective interview and avoid some of the possible pitfalls
  • develop a structured approach to completing the selection process.
