This small group learning course for pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and trainee pharmacists focuses on type 2 diabetes. It supports your team to build confidence and capability in delivering person-centred, individualised care that enhances safe and effective medicines optimisation for people living with type 2 diabetes.

Learning outcomes

On completion of all aspects of this learning programme you should be able to:

  • determine implications for medicines use in type 2 diabetes based on changing metabolic  parameters (eg, blood glucose, kidney function, lipids, weight)
  • confidently stop and restart medicines used to manage type 2 diabetes when people have an acute illness or require surgery
  • enable shared decision making by using person centred approaches to explain the risks and benefits of type 2 diabetes medicines.
