Clinical pharmacy

Our clinical portfolio is expanding on a frequent basis, helping you to advance your knowledge and skills and deliver medicines optimisation in practice for all sectors of pharmacy. From two new focal points a year to our small group learning for hospital pharmacists – Optimise – this section focuses on clinical pharmacy, diseases and therapeutics.

Public health

The public health agenda is embedded in pharmacy, yet topics such as emergency contraception or stop smoking support are as prevalent as ever. As well as our public health workshops, use this section to access a wide range of resources to assure and maintain your competence, all underpinned by the Declaration of Competence system.

Attending this workshop will help you to develop confidence in engaging in person-centred discussions with people with depression. You will work with peers from different sectors of pharmacy to discuss the treatment options available to meet the individual needs of the person living with depression.

This workshop will be delivered via the Zoom online platform and you will receive more details on how to join the Zoom meeting in your confirmation email after booking.

Learning objectives

On completion of all aspects of this learning programme you should be able to:

  • describe how to address the challenges involved when consulting with people with depression
  • summarise the benefits and risks of common antidepressant drugs
  • engage in discussion about treatment options with people with depression that meet their needs

How to use this programme

Our e-workshops are run online using Zoom video conferencing. When you book onto an e-workshop you will automatically be registered onto the Zoom meeting and will receive emails from the meeting organiser about how to join.
