Clinical pharmacy

Our clinical portfolio is expanding on a frequent basis, helping you to advance your knowledge and skills and deliver medicines optimisation in practice for all sectors of pharmacy. From two new focal points a year to our small group learning for hospital pharmacists – Optimise – this section focuses on clinical pharmacy, diseases and therapeutics.

Public health

The public health agenda is embedded in pharmacy, yet topics such as emergency contraception or stop smoking support are as prevalent as ever. As well as our public health workshops, use this section to access a wide range of resources to assure and maintain your competence, all underpinned by the Declaration of Competence system.

You can access the MR-CAT resource on the Consultations skills for pharmacy practice website.

In this web-based resource you can find information about the Medicines Related Consultation Assessment Tool (MR-CAT). The resource includes guidance on how you can use it for observed assessment as well as being able to self-assess your current practice.

You will also find guidance on how to gain feedback from people accessing your services using the Patient satisfaction questionnaire (PSQ).

This website resource also forms part of the Consultations skills – face to face and remote learning gateway. On this learning gateway page, you will find a range of learning resources which aim to increase your knowledge, skills, and confidence in relation to developing your consultation skills.
