Learning outcomes
On completion of all aspects of this learning programme you should be able to:
- explain the five basic criteria for adult learning, as defined by Knowles, in order to plan a successful teaching or tutoring session
- describe the five main learning theories and associated teaching methods that could be used within healthcare education
- discuss the considerations that should be taken into account when planning a teaching or tutoring session
- describe the ‘Maslow pyramid of physiological needs’ to support the development of effective training sessions
- recognise the equality, diversity and accessibility considerations that need to be embedded into any teaching or tutoring session.
