These events are only for pharmacy professionals registered on the 12-month leadership course.

There is a clear link between levels of staff engagement and patient experience. Where staff engagement scores are high, scores are also significantly higher for patient satisfaction and lower for hospital mortality rates. High levels of staff engagement also result in improved staff health and wellbeing and lower levels of absenteeism.


Learning objectives

On completion of all aspects of this learning programme you should be able to:

  • identify three factors that can improve staff engagement
  • describe Belbin’s team roles and how different roles contribute to effective team working
  • identify your own role preferences when working in a team
  • reflect on personal strengths and weaknesses that you bring to a team
  • delegate effectively in order to improve staff engagement
  • identify opportunities to work collaboratively with other teams.
