Kent Healthy Living Pharmacy programme (self-directed)

  • Released: 06/2014
  • Study time: 40h:0m
  • Start date: TBC

This course has been developed for pharmacy professionals within Kent as part of the Healthy Living Pharmacy programme. This course will equip pharmacy professionals with the key knowledge, skills and behaviours to successfully implement the principles of the Healthy Living Pharmacy and will provide a structured approach to learning.

The course runs in coursesites.com and consists of eight sections. We estimate that you will need to commit to around five hours of learning to each section. At the end of the course you and your pharmacy team will feel confident in completing the Healthy Living Pharmacy quality criteria and will be ready to deliver a high quality service.

Learning objectives

On completion of all aspects of this learning programme you should be able to:

  • discuss the key features and benefits of Healthy Living Pharmacies
  • compare local health needs and health inequalities with those in the rest of England
  • analyse the Healthy Living Pharmacy Development Framework and match pharmacy services to local health needs
  • use the Healthy Living Pharmacy quality criteria to develop an action plan for implementation of the service
  • apply the principles of effective change management to communicate the impact of the healthy living pharmacy initiative to your team
  • develop an action plan to support team members to undertake personal development appropriate to their role.

How to use this programme

Our e-courses are run online. You can take part in a tutor-supported version, which is normally held over a number of weeks, or access the learning materials at other times when the tutor-supported course is not running. The programme runs in CourseSites™ and you need to register with CPPE and CourseSites™ before you can take part.

Learn on your own: If you are not able to join the tutor-supported version of this programme, or would prefer to work through the learning materials on your own you can still access all the learning that is provided in the tutor-supported version. If you take this self-directed route you will not be able to engage with other pharmacists on the course or an online tutor, but you will have access to all the same high-quality materials that you can work through at a time an pace that suits you. You may only be able to take part in this option when we are not running the tutor-supported version of the course.
