  • Released: 04/2013
  • Reviewed: 02/2015
  • Study time: 6h:0m

This short e-course has been developed for pharmacy professionals with an interest in the healthy living pharmacy concept, whether they intend to apply for accreditation as part of a local initiative, or just want to find out more about what is involved. You will have the opportunity to learn using a variety of media and to take part in discussion forums to solve problems and share experiences with colleagues.

Learning objectives

On completion of all aspects of this learning programme you should be able to:

  • discuss the key features and benefits of HLPs
  • compare local health needs and health inequalities with those in other parts of England
  • use the HLP quality criteria to develop an action plan for implementation of the service.

How to use this programme

Our e-courses are run online. You can take part in a tutor-supported version, which is normally held over a number of weeks, or access the learning materials at other times when the tutor-supported course is not running. The programme runs in CourseSites™ and you need to register with CPPE and CourseSites™ before you can take part.

Learn on your own: If you are not able to join the tutor-supported version of this programme, or would prefer to work through the learning materials on your own you can still access all the learning that is provided in the tutor-supported version. If you take this self-directed route you will not be able to engage with other pharmacists on the course or an online tutor, but you will have access to all the same high-quality materials that you can work through at a time an pace that suits you. You may only be able to take part in this option when we are not running the tutor-supported version of the course.
