Clinical pharmacy

Our clinical portfolio is expanding on a frequent basis, helping you to advance your knowledge and skills and deliver medicines optimisation in practice for all sectors of pharmacy. From two new focal points a year to our small group learning for hospital pharmacists – Optimise – this section focuses on clinical pharmacy, diseases and therapeutics.

Public health

The public health agenda is embedded in pharmacy, yet topics such as emergency contraception or stop smoking support are as prevalent as ever. As well as our public health workshops, use this section to access a wide range of resources to assure and maintain your competence, all underpinned by the Declaration of Competence system.

This workshop will enable you to develop your facilitation skills and give you confidence to help others to get the most from their learning experiences.


Learning objectives

On completion of all aspects of this programme you should be able to:

  • describe the skills and key roles of a facilitator
  • prepare yourself and your participants to ensure that everybody understands what to expect from the session and what is expected from them
  • develop your own facilitation toolkit for use in practice
  • use constructive feedback from a series of facilitation activities to help you improve your skills in local learning sessions
  • facilitate engaging, effective and fun learning sessions that encourage self-directed learning and integrate learning into practice
  • engage your participants in practice based activities, assessments and CPD records.
