Dermatology: An introduction to managing common skin conditions e-learning programme live

CPPE is pleased to launch its new Dermatology: An introduction to managing common skin conditions e-learning programme.

As the body’s largest organ, as much as 60 percent of people in the UK currently live with or have previously had a skin condition. Skin conditions are one of the most common reasons for people to see their GP. Some of these GP appointments could be managed more appropriately in other settings, which is where you – the pharmacy professional – come in. Many common skin conditions that present in the community can be managed by pharmacy teams. Early intervention may prevent the skin condition from worsening and reduce the need for specialist care. Red flag detection by a pharmacy professional may prevent a medical emergency.

CPPE has developed this Dermatology: An introduction to managing common skin conditions e-learning programme to help you support people with common skin conditions to manage their symptoms. This programme will enhance your knowledge on effective skin care, support you to take a dermatological clinical history and allow you to build your own dermatological clinical history taking help sheet to use in practice to make your dermatology consultations person-centred.

Using a blended learning approach, with expert interviews, common skin condition topic cards and case studies, we introduce you to the basics of good skin care and the diagnostic tools to help you identify different skin conditions. The programme contains key information on a selection of common skin conditions, including typical signs and symptoms, treatment options, differential diagnoses, red flags and self-care, as well as useful information to share with people to inform and empower them to manage their symptoms. The case studies give you the opportunity to apply your knowledge and skills to a practice-based scenario.

With this programme, you can decide if you complete all the topics in one go, take one topic at a time, complete them in order, or jump to a specific topic that you need to know now. You are in control of your own learning.
