There’s so much to see, hear and do at this year’s Pharmacy Show, and a plethora of reasons to get involved that will benefit you and your pharmacy practice.
At the end of two jam-packed days, you’ll feel confident in having acquired the tools, techniques, tips and tricks to help maximise your growth.
The transformative nature of technology has been a significant topic in the pharmacy profession. We’ve seen the impact digitisation has had throughout COVID-19. More recently, a report on the government’s pharmacy policy commitments has identified a need to improve technology in the sector, prompting further discussion on what needs to be done now and the possibilities that lie ahead.
In February, NHS England reported that just under a billion prescription items were dispensed electronically in the 2021-22 financial year, resulting in an array of benefits for pharmacy professionals, patients and the environment. While incredible progress has been made, the government has stated the target to eliminate paper prescribing by 2024 has been pushed back to 2025, as the recovery from COVID-19 continues.
In other tech-innovation news, digital tools are being utilised to detect undiagnosed hypertension, with Community Pharmacy Surrey and Sussex working with NHS Sussex to develop a pathway that will maximise the use of this service. As the trend of AI also intensifies, advanced AI methods are being used to personalise patient care at the bedside.
Across nine theatres, The Pharmacy Show will feature over 200 speakers covering the most pressing national policy topics, important clinical updates and business intelligence. You’ll leave these sessions with a wealth of new knowledge and practical takeaways you can bring back to your place of work and implement immediately.
From the highly anticipated Keynote Theatre, where you’ll hear from NHS England and the associations representing pharmacy in the UK, to the Business and Technology Theatres taking a deep dive into various topics, here’s a taster of what to expect:
