Supporting people living with frailty new online workshop

People are living longer, but an increasing number of older people are living with frailty. The condition affects around 10 percent of people over 65, and up to 50 percent of people over 85. However, frailty is not an inevitable consequence of aging, and younger people may also be affected.

Pharmacy professionals working in any area of practice are well-placed to identify and support those living with frailty to improve health outcomes. Our Supporting people living with frailty online workshop will help you develop the knowledge and skills to:

  • describe what is meanty by frailty
  • recognise people living with frailty
  • make early interventions
  • offer appropriate support.

Supporting people to age well is part of the NHS Long Term Plan. Identifying people who are living with frailty at an early stage, and providing them with access appropriate support, can slow deterioration, help them maintain their independence, improve quality of life and reduce hospital admissions.

The learning is intended for pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and trainee pharmacists. Book an upcoming event on our website and start learning today.
