Antimicrobial resistance is one of the biggest threats to public health. As resistance increases, everyday infections can become life-threatening and treatment options become limited. The main theme of World Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Week (WAAW) 2023 is ‘Preventing antimicrobial resistance together’, highlighting the fight against antimicrobial resistance requires a global approach.
Join us across our social media channels where we will be posting a range of resources and information relating to antimicrobial resistance. We will be taking part in the official Global Twitter Storm on 18 November, European Antibiotic Awareness Day (EAAD) between 1-2pm. Get involved using the hashtags #AntibioticGuardian, #KeepAntibioticsWorking, and #WAAW.
In the meantime you can visit our Antimicrobial resistance gateway page and dedicated EAAD and WAAW webpage, which includes details on how you can support effective antimicrobial stewardship within your role using an interactive storyboard exercise.
Don’t forget to visit the Antibiotic guardian website to choose or renew your pledge to become an antibiotic guardian and commit to fighting antimicrobial resistance. You can show your support for this important campaign by also encouraging colleagues and friends to do the same.
Share your pledges and success stories, and look out for more information, on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
