NHS priorities

Whether it’s to prepare for the next Pharmacy Quality Scheme deadline, or to increase your confidence in helping people with a learning disability, this section provides topic-specific pages that link to current NHS priorities. This section will support you in keeping your knowledge and skills up to date in order to provide high-quality pharmacy services and be service-ready.

Clinical pharmacy

Our clinical portfolio is expanding on a frequent basis, helping you to advance your knowledge and skills and deliver medicines optimisation in practice for all sectors of pharmacy. From two new focal points a year to our small group learning for hospital pharmacists – Optimise – this section focuses on clinical pharmacy, diseases and therapeutics.

Public health

The public health agenda is embedded in pharmacy, yet topics such as emergency contraception or stop smoking support are as prevalent as ever. As well as our public health workshops, use this section to access a wide range of resources to assure and maintain your competence, all underpinned by the Declaration of Competence system.

CPPE launches new Genomics learning gateway

We are pleased to announce that the new Genomics learning gateway is now live, to coincide with Health Education England’s #GenomicsConversation week.

The Genomics learning gateway provides core and foundation learning, assessments, and other resources to support pharmacy professionals to develop their knowledge of genomics and how it relates to pharmacy and healthcare. Also contained within the learning gateway are a variety of bite-sized learning, accessible via the Health Education England Genomics Education Programme website.

The Genomics learning gateway also links to the CPPE Introduction to genomics in pharmacy e-learning programme, which is designed to introduce you to genomics and pharmacogenomics, and to highlight the opportunities they can bring to the provision of person-centred care in your area of practice. Within the learning gateway are signposted resources, such as the National Genomic Test Directory, which sets out genomic tests that are currently available in the NHS in order to support awareness of how genomic testing is being used in clinical practice.

Health Education England’s #GenomicsConversation week takes place from 20 to 24 June, and aims to get healthcare professionals talking about genomics with colleagues and patients.

For more information, visit the CPPE Genomics learning gateway and start your #GenomicsConversation across social media. Keep an eye on the official CPPE accounts throughout the week for more information and resources.
