Clinical pharmacy

Our clinical portfolio is expanding on a frequent basis, helping you to advance your knowledge and skills and deliver medicines optimisation in practice for all sectors of pharmacy. From two new focal points a year to our small group learning for hospital pharmacists – Optimise – this section focuses on clinical pharmacy, diseases and therapeutics.

Public health

The public health agenda is embedded in pharmacy, yet topics such as emergency contraception or stop smoking support are as prevalent as ever. As well as our public health workshops, use this section to access a wide range of resources to assure and maintain your competence, all underpinned by the Declaration of Competence system.

CPPE welcomes new Chief Pharmaceutical Officer for England

CPPE has welcomed the news that the NHS in England has confirmed the appointment of David Webb as the next Chief Pharmaceutical Officer for England.

Currently the Chief Pharmacist and Clinical Director for Pharmacy and Medicines Optimisation at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust in London, David will assume the role of Chief Pharmaceutical Officer for England from February 2022.

Commenting on the appointment of David Webb as the next Chief Pharmaceutical Officer for England, Director for CPPE, Matthew Shaw, said:

“CPPE is delighted to hear that David has been appointed as the next Chief Pharmaceutical Officer and looks forward to continuing to help to support the achievement of NHSEI's strategic outcomes through the provision of high quality and practical learning materials for the pharmacy professions.”
