We are delighted to announce the launch of our new Hypertension focal point programme with the first tutor-led workshops running from the start of December.
We have developed this focal point programme to give you short, clinically focused learning sessions. Each programme presents information and activities that are relevant for pharmacy professionals working in primary care and in the community. This is a level 2 learning programme and assumes that you already have some knowledge of the topic area. The programme takes around 6 hours 30 minutes to complete, divided into two hours of pre-work, the online workshop, which is two and a half hours and up to two hours of post workshop learning.
We aim to provide you with the tools to interpret and apply clinical guidance and the principles of shared decision making to support people living with hypertension to self-manage their condition. Completing this learning programme with your colleagues will enable you to improve the services you offer to patients. This includes guidance on supporting people to make changes to their lifestyle to reduce their risk of hypertension, worsening hypertension, or complications associated with hypertension.
The focal point challenges you to relate what you have learnt to your own area of practice and professional development. Practice points and talking points stimulate your thinking; while a case study and range of clinical vignettes help you apply what you have learnt.
