NHS priorities

Whether it’s to prepare for the next Quality Payments Scheme deadline, or to increase your confidence in helping people with a learning disability, this section provides topic-specific pages that link to current NHS priorities. This section will support you in keeping your knowledge and skills up to date in order to provide high-quality pharmacy services and be service-ready.

Clinical pharmacy

Our clinical portfolio is expanding on a frequent basis, helping you to advance your knowledge and skills and deliver medicines optimisation in practice for all sectors of pharmacy. From two new focal points a year to our small group learning for hospital pharmacists – Optimise – this section focuses on clinical pharmacy, diseases and therapeutics.

Public health

The public health agenda is embedded in pharmacy, yet topics such as emergency contraception or stop smoking support are as prevalent as ever. As well as our public health workshops, use this section to access a wide range of resources to assure and maintain your competence, all underpinned by the Declaration of Competence system.

CPPE celebrates 30 years of supporting the pharmacy profession

We are proud to have been providing continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities for pharmacy professionals in England for 30 years.

CPPE was established in 1991 to assure consistent access to and delivery of learning, both in quantity and quality, for community pharmacists.

Soon our resources became accessible to all pharmacy professionals delivering NHS services in England and now, 30 years later, we continue to provide high-quality learning.

CPPE has accumulated many achievements over the past 30 years. We have developed a broad portfolio of learning resources, including a number of extensive learning pathways, workshops on a vast array of topics and supporting significant NHS priorities such as the NHS Community Pharmacist Consultation Service.

We are also proud to have collaborated with various organisations supporting the pharmacy profession, as well as enabled significant changes, such as legislation to make emergency hormonal contraception available in pharmacies.

We will be celebrating our 30th anniversary by releasing videos of colleagues across the pharmacy profession sharing their experience of working with or alongside CPPE.

We recognise that what makes CPPE unique is the people. It is the staff, learners and supporters that have made CPPE what it is today. We would like to hear from you, so tell us, using #CPPEat30, what CPPE means to you.

Join us and let’s celebrate 30 years of CPPE.
