NHS priorities

Whether it’s to prepare for the next Quality Payments Scheme deadline, or to increase your confidence in helping people with a learning disability, this section provides topic-specific pages that link to current NHS priorities. This section will support you in keeping your knowledge and skills up to date in order to provide high-quality pharmacy services and be service-ready.

Clinical pharmacy

Our clinical portfolio is expanding on a frequent basis, helping you to advance your knowledge and skills and deliver medicines optimisation in practice for all sectors of pharmacy. From two new focal points a year to our small group learning for hospital pharmacists – Optimise – this section focuses on clinical pharmacy, diseases and therapeutics.

Public health

The public health agenda is embedded in pharmacy, yet topics such as emergency contraception or stop smoking support are as prevalent as ever. As well as our public health workshops, use this section to access a wide range of resources to assure and maintain your competence, all underpinned by the Declaration of Competence system.

Patient safety toolkit open for bookings

We are delighted to introduce our - Patient safety toolkit.

This programme will introduce a toolkit to enable you to identify tools you and your team can use to make changes in your practice to improve patient safety. We aim to provide you with insight into patient safety, what a patient safety culture is, what it achieves and how to make changes to deliver improvement.

The e-learning programme includes a step-by-step how to guide for each tool and provides examples of its uses in practice. The programme uses examples of patient safety incidents to illustrate scenarios you may encounter and provides reflective questions, encouraging you to consider what you have learned and how you can apply this to practice. The programme also provides you with an action plan template to help you to identify tools that may be useful to you and the team that you work in.

This learning is intended for:

Pharmacists

Pharmacy technicians

Pre-registration trainees

CPPE registrants

The e-learning is fully accessible online and you can access it now at: www.cppe.ac.uk/programmes/l/safety-e-01/
