Clinical pharmacy

Our clinical portfolio is expanding on a frequent basis, helping you to advance your knowledge and skills and deliver medicines optimisation in practice for all sectors of pharmacy. From two new focal points a year to our small group learning for hospital pharmacists – Optimise – this section focuses on clinical pharmacy, diseases and therapeutics.

Public health

The public health agenda is embedded in pharmacy, yet topics such as emergency contraception or stop smoking support are as prevalent as ever. As well as our public health workshops, use this section to access a wide range of resources to assure and maintain your competence, all underpinned by the Declaration of Competence system.

Free Accuracy checking pharmacy technician course remains open

At CPPE, we understand the pressures facing pharmacy teams in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Now that we know we will likely face continued disruption, you may want to upskill as an accuracy checking pharmacy technician to support the response.

Our Accuracy checking pharmacy technician (ACPT) programme is free to pharmacy technicians working in community, Health and Justice, hospitals in the north of England and London and the South East, as it is fully funded by Health Education England.

The ACPT programme is a training and development programme that aims to support pharmacy technicians develop a range of skills including communication, leadership and accuracy checking.

It last for between three and 12 months, so you could complete it this year and further play your part as a vital part of the NHS response to the pandemic,

The programme will also support the development of the entire pharmacy team, as ACPTs are able to take on accuracy checking tasks from pharmacists, allowing the pharmacy team to boost their efficiency and improve outcomes for patients.
