NHS priorities

Whether it’s to prepare for the next Quality Payments Scheme deadline, or to increase your confidence in helping people with a learning disability, this section provides topic-specific pages that link to current NHS priorities. This section will support you in keeping your knowledge and skills up to date in order to provide high-quality pharmacy services and be service-ready.

Clinical pharmacy

Our clinical portfolio is expanding on a frequent basis, helping you to advance your knowledge and skills and deliver medicines optimisation in practice for all sectors of pharmacy. From two new focal points a year to our small group learning for hospital pharmacists – Optimise – this section focuses on clinical pharmacy, diseases and therapeutics.

Public health

The public health agenda is embedded in pharmacy, yet topics such as emergency contraception or stop smoking support are as prevalent as ever. As well as our public health workshops, use this section to access a wide range of resources to assure and maintain your competence, all underpinned by the Declaration of Competence system.

CPPE statement on COVID-19

At CPPE, we are acutely aware of the pressures facing the country, our communities and the pharmacy profession due to the outbreak of COVID-19.

We are continually monitoring government advice closely, as well as advice from Public Health England.

We are also in regular contact with our colleagues at Health Education England and The University of Manchester in relation to how we can operate in these unprecedented times.

We do, however, understand that many of you are worried about yourselves, your patients, your colleagues and your loved ones.

We know that you value the learning programmes that we offer, and recognise how important it is to develop your career and keep up to date.

As of today – Tuesday 14 July 2020 – CPPE has made the decision to postpone all face-to-face events until at least Monday 4 January 2021, with immediate effect.

The majority of our learning development is now focused on online provision, and from mid-July, we are offering a range of online workshops.

This decision has also been extended to cover the postponement of all face-to-face pathway events, also until Monday 4 January 2021; our pathway learning has moved to being delivered online.

We will continue to review these decisions on a regular basis, and are working hard to ensure that everyone who needs to be contacted will be.

Contingency plans are in place to ensure we continue to support you – our learners.

In line with the government advice, we have also moved the CPPE head office functions to a remote, home-based service until further notice.

This does not mean you will be unable to contact us, but of course it means our methods of communication will be restricted.

Our team is equipped to work remotely, and we will be monitoring and responding to emails to: info@cppe.ac.uk during business hours.

You can also contact us via the live chat service on our website between 10:00am and 4:00pm, Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays).

If you need to contact us in relation to one of our learning pathways, please do so accordingly on:

We will be doing everything in our power to ensure that we can continue to provide you with support and quality learning. We will continue to increase our provision of online group learning.

Our website and all our online learning remains unaffected, and CPPE remains open for business and open to support our learners.

As we move towards an online approach to learning in this period, what do you need? If you have ideas on what you would like to see added to our online portfolio, or thoughts on the way you would like us to offer this, then please email them to us on: feedback@cppe.ac.uk

The safety, health and wellbeing of all our learners and staff is of the utmost importance to us, and we are sure you will understand why we have taken these measures.
