Clinical pharmacy

Our clinical portfolio is expanding on a frequent basis, helping you to advance your knowledge and skills and deliver medicines optimisation in practice for all sectors of pharmacy. From two new focal points a year to our small group learning for hospital pharmacists – Optimise – this section focuses on clinical pharmacy, diseases and therapeutics.

Public health

The public health agenda is embedded in pharmacy, yet topics such as emergency contraception or stop smoking support are as prevalent as ever. As well as our public health workshops, use this section to access a wide range of resources to assure and maintain your competence, all underpinned by the Declaration of Competence system.

Latest New medicine service e-course launched

We’re pleased to announce that applications are now open for our latest e-course, New medicine service: improving quality and getting it right.

Keeping up to date with pharmacy service delivery can be a challenge. Our live e-course New medicine service: improving quality and getting it right will give you an understanding of the purpose and scope of the new medicine service (NMS). It will help you to look at the practicalities of running the service in your pharmacy, while enabling you and the whole pharmacy team to deliver a person-centred, high-quality NMS. 

By the end of this course you will:

  • have the key knowledge, skills and behaviours to support target groups of patients prescribed a new medicine for the first time
  • feel confident in completing your Self-assessment of readiness for community pharmacists form
  • be ready to deliver a high-quality NMS that really makes a difference to patients.

About this e-course

By joining the NMS live e-course, you will have the opportunity to work as part of an online learning community and interact with colleagues in discussion forums and learn together in live online webinar sessions. You can also complete many of the weekly learning activities at a time and place that is convenient for you.
