NHS priorities

Whether it’s to prepare for the next Quality Payments Scheme deadline, or to increase your confidence in helping people with a learning disability, this section provides topic-specific pages that link to current NHS priorities. This section will support you in keeping your knowledge and skills up to date in order to provide high-quality pharmacy services and be service-ready.

Clinical pharmacy

Our clinical portfolio is expanding on a frequent basis, helping you to advance your knowledge and skills and deliver medicines optimisation in practice for all sectors of pharmacy. From two new focal points a year to our small group learning for hospital pharmacists – Optimise – this section focuses on clinical pharmacy, diseases and therapeutics.

Public health

The public health agenda is embedded in pharmacy, yet topics such as emergency contraception or stop smoking support are as prevalent as ever. As well as our public health workshops, use this section to access a wide range of resources to assure and maintain your competence, all underpinned by the Declaration of Competence system.

Applications open for the latest Mary Seacole cohorts

We are delighted to announce that we will again be working in collaboration with the NHS Leadership Academy to deliver the ten latest cohorts of the Mary Seacole Leadership programme for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians working in community pharmacy.

The Mary Seacole Leadership programme is a six-month leadership development programme with 12 units of study. This NHS-led flagship programme is designed to maximise your clinical leadership and management skills to enable you to drive quality services in pharmacy and really make a difference to the health of the patients you see.

Pharmacy Integration Funded places are available in various regions across the country for those working in community pharmacy.

The programme will provide a fantastic opportunity to network with professionals from other sectors of healthcare, as these cohorts have been opened to a multidisciplinary audience.

Applications are now open for:

  • Cohort 81 in Leeds - applications for this cohort close on 25 July 2019
  • Cohort 82 in Birmingham - applications for this cohort close on 8 August 2019
