Clinical pharmacy

Our clinical portfolio is expanding on a frequent basis, helping you to advance your knowledge and skills and deliver medicines optimisation in practice for all sectors of pharmacy. From two new focal points a year to our small group learning for hospital pharmacists – Optimise – this section focuses on clinical pharmacy, diseases and therapeutics.

Public health

The public health agenda is embedded in pharmacy, yet topics such as emergency contraception or stop smoking support are as prevalent as ever. As well as our public health workshops, use this section to access a wide range of resources to assure and maintain your competence, all underpinned by the Declaration of Competence system.

Funding for our Accuracy checking pharmacy technician (ACPT) programme availabl

We are delighted to announce that our Accuracy checking pharmacy technician (ACPT) programme will now be available to all pharmacy technicians in community settings and pharmacy technicians in the Health and Justice sector across England.

The ACPT programme is a 3-12 month training and development programme that aims to support pharmacy technicians develop a range of skills including communication, leadership and accuracy checking.

The programme will also support the development of the entire pharmacy team as ACPTs are able to take on accuracy checking tasks from pharmacists, allowing the pharmacy team to boost their efficiency and improve outcomes for patients.

Applications for the Accuracy checking pharmacy technician programme are now open and all pharmacy technicians working in a community pharmacy are eligible.
