Accuracy checking pharmacy technician pilot extended

We are delighted to announce that our Accuracy checking pharmacy technician (ACPT) pilot is being extended for its final three months.

The programme is now open for application to pharmacy technicians working in community pharmacy across the whole of England.

Places on the programme are funded by the Pharmacy Integration Fund via Health Education England.

The course can last for up to 12 months, consisting of eight hours of online study (which can be broken down into smaller blocks) and collation of checking logs in the workplace.

The online and workplace based nature of the programme is designed to ensure minimal disruption to day-to-day activities in the workplace.

The training and extensive assessment has been designed to provide the flexibility to meet the needs of pharmacy teams and allow pharmacy technicians to develop their role and make a difference to the patient experience.

The programme aims to equip pharmacy technicians with the knowledge, skills and behaviours to provide:

  • final accuracy checks of medicines that have been approved or clinically screened by a pharmacist
  • leadership in their practice
  • optimisation of the skill mix in the pharmacy team.

Apply now – spaces are limited

For more information about how to apply, and to submit your application, visit the updated ACPT page on our website.

Once you have booked your place, you will be sent a link to register for the online learning.
