NHS priorities

Whether it’s to prepare for the next Quality Payments Scheme deadline, or to increase your confidence in helping people with a learning disability, this section provides topic-specific pages that link to current NHS priorities. This section will support you in keeping your knowledge and skills up to date in order to provide high-quality pharmacy services and be service-ready.

Clinical pharmacy

Our clinical portfolio is expanding on a frequent basis, helping you to advance your knowledge and skills and deliver medicines optimisation in practice for all sectors of pharmacy. From two new focal points a year to our small group learning for hospital pharmacists – Optimise – this section focuses on clinical pharmacy, diseases and therapeutics.

Public health

The public health agenda is embedded in pharmacy, yet topics such as emergency contraception or stop smoking support are as prevalent as ever. As well as our public health workshops, use this section to access a wide range of resources to assure and maintain your competence, all underpinned by the Declaration of Competence system.

CPPE attendance at PCPA and Pharmacy Forward conferences

CPPE will be at both Primary Care Pharmacy Association (PCPA) conferences in London and Manchester, as well as the Pharmacy Forward conference in Birmingham.

We will be running sessions on patient safety at all three of the conferences, following on from our Patient safety learning campaign. The sessions will provide you with background knowledge relating to patient safety and risk management. They will illustrate how CPPE can support you and your team in minimising patient safety incidents and help you to develop methods to deal with incidents should they arise in your practice.

Come to this interactive workshop to delve further into how to:

  • describe the principles of patient safety
  • identify the systems which impact on patient safety
  • consult with patients who are prescribed high-risk medicines
  • respond appropriately to patient safety incidents.

We will also have a stand at all of the conferences so make sure to pop along and say hello – PCPA in London on 12 June 2018, Manchester on 11 July 2018 and Pharmacy Forward in Birmingham on 10 June 2018.

For more information, and to register, visit the PCPA website: www.pcpa.org.uk and the Pharmacy Forward website: www.pharmacyforward.co.uk/

We look forward to seeing you there.
