NHS priorities

Whether it’s to prepare for the next Quality Payments Scheme deadline, or to increase your confidence in helping people with a learning disability, this section provides topic-specific pages that link to current NHS priorities. This section will support you in keeping your knowledge and skills up to date in order to provide high-quality pharmacy services and be service-ready.

Clinical pharmacy

Our clinical portfolio is expanding on a frequent basis, helping you to advance your knowledge and skills and deliver medicines optimisation in practice for all sectors of pharmacy. From two new focal points a year to our small group learning for hospital pharmacists – Optimise – this section focuses on clinical pharmacy, diseases and therapeutics.

Public health

The public health agenda is embedded in pharmacy, yet topics such as emergency contraception or stop smoking support are as prevalent as ever. As well as our public health workshops, use this section to access a wide range of resources to assure and maintain your competence, all underpinned by the Declaration of Competence system.

New e-Learning for Healthcare programmes

Have you had a look at the learning available from e-Learning for Healthcare (e-LfH) recently? e-Learning for Healthcare is a Health Education England programme providing high-quality e-learning to educate and train the health and social care workforce.

E-LfH works in partnership with the NHS and professional bodies to support patient care by providing 24/7 access to online, nationally quality-assured e-learning materials.

Anyone registered with CPPE can access up to 40 different e-LfH programmes particularly relevant to pharmacy teams via our website.

You can find a list of these programmes here.

Recent additions to CPPE’s e-LfH account

  • Cultural competence – supporting health professionals to gain understanding of the key issues relating to culture and how this may influence the uptake of health care and treatment options.
  • Freedom to speak up – supporting all healthcare staff to raise and respond to concerns and appreciate the value of speaking up at the earliest opportunity.
  • Pre-registration pharmacist supervisor training.

These new programmes will only appear on your account if you are accessing e-LfH via CPPE for the first time. If you have previously created an account with e-LfH via CPPE or if you would like to use another e-LfH programme not on your account then you can search and enrol on it using the Enrolment page in the My Account menu at the top of the page within the e-Learning for Healthcare hub.

Please also note that the Equality, diversity and human rights e-learning programme is no longer available as a standalone programme but can be accessed as part of the Statutory and mandatory training programme.
