NHS priorities

Whether it’s to prepare for the next Pharmacy Quality Scheme deadline, or to increase your confidence in helping people with a learning disability, this section provides topic-specific pages that link to current NHS priorities. This section will support you in keeping your knowledge and skills up to date in order to provide high-quality pharmacy services and be service-ready.

Clinical pharmacy

Our clinical portfolio is expanding on a frequent basis, helping you to advance your knowledge and skills and deliver medicines optimisation in practice for all sectors of pharmacy. From two new focal points a year to our small group learning for hospital pharmacists – Optimise – this section focuses on clinical pharmacy, diseases and therapeutics.

Public health

The public health agenda is embedded in pharmacy, yet topics such as emergency contraception or stop smoking support are as prevalent as ever. As well as our public health workshops, use this section to access a wide range of resources to assure and maintain your competence, all underpinned by the Declaration of Competence system.

CPPE launches its first ever national online workshop

We are delighted to announce the launch of our first ever online focal point event – Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Over the last four months, life has changed in many ways for all of us. We understands the pressure on pharmacy professionals across the country, but we also understand the need for you to continue your learning and professional development with us.

As our face-to-face events are cancelled for the foreseeable future, we have been working hard on creating a new, online focal point event that you can now enjoy from the comfort of your own home.

The COPD focal point covers the updated NICE guidance on diagnosis and management of COPD and how you can apply this to support people with COPD in practice, optimise their medicines and support them to self-manage their condition.

Each event will run for two hours, with time at the start of each event to help get you accustomed to the online learning environment.

You will work through case studies and clinical vignettes in a supportive online environment facilitated by experienced CPPE tutors.

This online focal point workshop is open to all pharmacy professionals across England, and provides an excellent opportunity to share new ideas and practices with colleagues from around the country.

Please note, however, that each event is restricted to 20 attendees only, so click here to book your place (you’ll need to log in to view upcoming events).

Our online focal point will be run via Zoom, and we will send you all the necessary details when you book your place.
