We are pleased to announce the launch of our new Optimise programme, VTE: Focus on reducing the risk of hospital-associated venous thromboembolism.
The programme aims to explore how pharmacy professionals can support the prevention of hospital-associated VTE in line with the new NICE guidance [NG89].
Our Optimise programmes provide pharmacy professionals who work in a clinical setting with the opportunity to learn with colleagues in small group learning sessions. The clinically focused content from a topic expert will allow learners to optimise the prevention of hospital-associated VTE.
The learning consists of preparation activities that will take approximately 20 minutes to complete and these focus on medicines optimisation and improved patient outcomes. The small group learning session should take around 40 minutes and includes activities on clinical controversies and clinical decision-making.
After completing the programme, participants will be able to reflect on how they communicate with patients regarding VTE prevention and compare local and national policies on VTE prevention, as well as being able to apply these policies to patient scenarios.
