NHS priorities

Whether it’s to prepare for the next Quality Payments Scheme deadline, or to increase your confidence in helping people with a learning disability, this section provides topic-specific pages that link to current NHS priorities. This section will support you in keeping your knowledge and skills up to date in order to provide high-quality pharmacy services and be service-ready.

Clinical pharmacy

Our clinical portfolio is expanding on a frequent basis, helping you to advance your knowledge and skills and deliver medicines optimisation in practice for all sectors of pharmacy. From two new focal points a year to our small group learning for hospital pharmacists – Optimise – this section focuses on clinical pharmacy, diseases and therapeutics.

Public health

The public health agenda is embedded in pharmacy, yet topics such as emergency contraception or stop smoking support are as prevalent as ever. As well as our public health workshops, use this section to access a wide range of resources to assure and maintain your competence, all underpinned by the Declaration of Competence system.

Quality Payments Scheme deadline fast approaching

The review point for the Quality Payments Scheme is fast approaching and will be on Friday 15 February 2019, which is when a Quality Payment can be claimed.

At CPPE we offer learning to support you in achieving the risk management and children’s oral health quality criteria. Our Risk management learning materials are for registered pharmacy professionals and consist of our Risk management guide, an e-assessment and a risk review.

Our Oral health materials are available for the whole pharmacy team and include an e-learning and an e-assessment and will ask you to confirm that your pharmacy is a Healthy Living Pharmacy.

You can access all of these materials via our website, which will also help you monitor your progress in achieving these criteria. You will also be able to download a certificate of achievement for each topic once you have successfully completed the e-assessment.

Additionally, we have  produced a document that summarises all of our Quality Payments learning resources. You can access this document here.

As with previous versions of the Scheme, payments will be made to eligible contractors depending on how many criteria they have met.

If you’d like more information on the Scheme, a summary was released in September 2018 and can be found on the PSNC website.
