On Monday 23 October 2017, we are launching a campaign with Public Health England to raise awareness about the dangers associated with antibiotic resistance.
The campaign will run in the lead-up to European Antibiotic Awareness Day (EAAD) on Saturday 18 November 2017.
Over the next four weeks, we will be running a series of challenges to inspire the whole pharmacy team to promote the appropriate use of antibiotics and reduce antimicrobial resistance in the community.
We have a dedicated EAAD page on our website where you can find out all the details of the campaign.
Antibiotic resistance represents a global threat to healthcare as more resistant strains emerge and less antibiotics are developed.
Without weapons to fight the resistance, everyday infections can become grave and life-threatening.
In addition, surgical procedures and patients receiving immunosuppressive therapy can become compromised by a lack of prophylaxis.
With your help we can reduce the resistance and improve patient healthcare outcomes.
To get an insight into what life would be like in a post-antibiotic era, visit the website for the short film, CATCH, where you can watch a trailer and sign up for the launch of the film.
