NHS priorities

Whether it’s to prepare for the next Quality Payments Scheme deadline, or to increase your confidence in helping people with a learning disability, this section provides topic-specific pages that link to current NHS priorities. This section will support you in keeping your knowledge and skills up to date in order to provide high-quality pharmacy services and be service-ready.

Clinical pharmacy

Our clinical portfolio is expanding on a frequent basis, helping you to advance your knowledge and skills and deliver medicines optimisation in practice for all sectors of pharmacy. From two new focal points a year to our small group learning for hospital pharmacists – Optimise – this section focuses on clinical pharmacy, diseases and therapeutics.

Public health

The public health agenda is embedded in pharmacy, yet topics such as emergency contraception or stop smoking support are as prevalent as ever. As well as our public health workshops, use this section to access a wide range of resources to assure and maintain your competence, all underpinned by the Declaration of Competence system.

Medicines, people and value campaign

Welcome to the CPPE Medicines, people and value learning campaign for autumn 2018.

You can participate in the campaign to learn about the NHS England Medicines Value Programme, why it matters to pharmacy teams and what opportunities you have to play a part in your practice.

Each week we suggest a challenge for you to complete that aims to help you reflect on your own practice and how you may wish to further develop.

This campaign will be available as four short e-learning programmes, released at weekly intervals.

You can access these e-learning programmes by clicking on the relevant quadrant of the logo below once the learning is released.

Each programme opens with an introductory video from a pharmacy professional, you can then access the content and interactive activities. We anticipate it should take you no longer than 30 minutes to complete each programme.

Key dates
Week 1 – w/c 22 October – Medicines Value Programme – developing our roles
Week 2 – w/c 29 October – Medicines waste
Week 3 – w/c 5 November – Falls prevention
Week 4 – w/c 12 November – Antimicrobial stewardship

Upon completion of all four e-learning programmes you will receive a virtual badge to add to your collection on your CPPE learning record. In addition we have highlighted suggestions in each programme for opportunities to use this learning to support your portfolio for professional revalidation.
