NHS priorities

Whether it’s to prepare for the next Quality Payments Scheme deadline, or to increase your confidence in helping people with a learning disability, this section provides topic-specific pages that link to current NHS priorities. This section will support you in keeping your knowledge and skills up to date in order to provide high-quality pharmacy services and be service-ready.

Clinical pharmacy

Our clinical portfolio is expanding on a frequent basis, helping you to advance your knowledge and skills and deliver medicines optimisation in practice for all sectors of pharmacy. From two new focal points a year to our small group learning for hospital pharmacists – Optimise – this section focuses on clinical pharmacy, diseases and therapeutics.

Public health

The public health agenda is embedded in pharmacy, yet topics such as emergency contraception or stop smoking support are as prevalent as ever. As well as our public health workshops, use this section to access a wide range of resources to assure and maintain your competence, all underpinned by the Declaration of Competence system.

Digital learning campaign

CPPE has designed this campaign alongside the associated How digital technology can transform care e-learning programme. You can use the e-learning to help you work through each of the campaign challenges. We aim to raise awareness of digital technology, enable you to reflect on what you currently use in your practice and consider what else is available to support patient care and improve service delivery.

It is overwhelming to think about how much digital technology is embedded in our day-to-day lives, including our healthcare and our professional roles. In healthcare we have access to Summary Care Records (SCR), Patient Medication Records (PMR), NHS mail, electronic prescriptions, electronic clinical decision support, robotic dispensing to support care and so much more.

During this campaign, we are going to consider how we can use each section of the How digital technology can transform care e-learning programme. We hope that showing you how the exciting developments that are taking place can impact patient care, and showcasing what is happening across the country relating to pharmacy and digital advancements, will help you to break down barriers relating to digital technologies.
