About the CPPE Stakeholder and User Advisory Board (SUAB)



What is the purpose of the Advisory Board?

The purpose of the Advisory Board is to provide CPPE with external expertise and professional opinions on the strategic development of learning programmes for all sectors of pharmacy.

 

What are the terms of reference of the Advisory Board?

1. To offer expert and professional opinion on CPPE’s strategic development plans for learning programmes for all sectors of pharmacy.

 

2. To offer expert and professional opinion on the scope and content of specific CPPE learning programmes for all sectors of pharmacy.

 

3. To offer opinions on proposed new formats of learning programmes and assessment.

 

4. To provide CPPE with front line experiences and advice with respect to service development and delivery within the NHS.

 

5. To offer horizon scanning information to support CPPE strategic planning.

 

6. To provide advice to CPPE on effective marketing to users within the different sectors of pharmacy.

 

7. To offer expert and professional opinion with regard to pharmacy workforce issues and learning.

 

The CPPE Executive Board takes into account the advice of the Stakeholder and User Advisory Board in making decisions about the operation of CPPE.

 

 


Who chairs the meetings?

Dr Keith Ridge, the Chief Pharmaceutical Officer, chairs the Advisory Board meetings.

 

How often and where does the Advisory Board meet?

There are two meetings per year in November and May. The meetings occur in Manchester.

 

Who are the members of the CPPE Advisory Board?

The majority of members of the Advisory Board are pharmacists and registered pharmacy technicians, representing all sectors of pharmacy. Some members do not have a pharmacy background and are from the NHS, educational institutions or other health professions.

For how long are members appointed to the Advisory Board?

Members are appointed for a minimum of three meetings up to a maximum of five. This ensures the Advisory Board membership contains a mixture of continuity and regular renewal.
