learning@lunch

Our learning@lunch modules are developed for hospital pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to learn together about clinical and pharmacy practice topics.

If you are interested in one of our learning@lunch modules, then get in touch with your CPPE key contact within your hospital trust to see if you can attend a facilitated session. Alternatively, set up a learning community with your colleagues.

To access the modules, click on learning@lunch portfolio in the left-hand menu.

Learning style

Our learning@lunch modules are bite-sized, flexible, and will update your knowledge and understanding of the topic.

Most of the topics fall into the category and each module has two booklets, which are designed to incorporate the different stages of the CPD cycle.

The learning@lunch modules feature pre-reading material, case studies, practice activities, reflective questions and practice points to focus your learning.

There is plenty of opportunity to add a local flavour to this national programme.

 Assessment

Most of our learning@lunch modules now now have associated e-assessments for you to complete once you have worked through the programme. Successful completion of some of our e-assessements can be used towards a pharmacists’ portfolio of evidence for submission to be a PhwSI, or for an advanced-level practitioner working in secondary care.

You can access e-assessments from your my CPPE record page or from the e-assessment portfolio.

In partnership

Our learning@lunch programmes are supported by some key hospital pharmacy organisations, including the Guild of Healthcare Pharmacists (GHP) and United Kingdom Clinical Pharmacy Association (UKCPA). We developed the learning@lunch concept with these organisations to further support and develop hospital pharmacy. Both GHP and UKCPA promote and support the important role pharmacy teams play in hospitals.

Accessing learning@lunch programmes

To access our learning@lunch modules you can:

  • attend a facilitated session within your hospital trust
  • join or set up a learning community
  • download a module for self-learning.

Ordering arrangements for trusts

Only key contacts allocated to our database are able to order modules for learning@lunch facilitated sessions within a trust in England. We can hold up to three contacts per trust on our database. We will email the key contact when we release a new module. Orders for trusts can only be placed by key contacts via our website. Modules have to be downloaded once our printed stocks have been depleted.

How do I find my key contact within a trust?

First, talk to your training coordinator or your chief pharmacist about our learning@lunch programmes, as you may already have regular facilitated sessions running at your trust. If want to register as a key contact for your trust or are unable to find your key contact, then email your details to us via: info@cppe.ac.uk.

Using learning@lunch within learning communities

A learning community is a group of pharmacy professionals who meet to study CPPE materials at a time and place that suits them. Our more recent learning@lunch modules can be used by you and your colleagues within a learning community. All the arrangements are completed on our website and we will send you free materials. For more information, have a look at our learning communities pages.

Remember you can download and view the learning@lunch booklets before you decide to pick a particular module for your learning community.
