Learning style
We have developed two styles of e-learning programmes.
- The first is a longer programme, such as Travel health and Helping others learn, which is divided into sections, so you can complete one section at a time and return to the learning at any point.
- The second is a shorter programme, such as BNF e-updates and Responsible pharmacist, that takes less then an hour to complete.
All our e-learning programmes can be accessed from this website.
We also have two CD-ROMs:
- Choosing health through pharmacy
Both can be ordered from the open learning portfolio.
Downloadable programmes - PDF documents
Most of our open learning programmes can also be downloaded as a PDF document, which can then be saved to your computer. They can be found in the open learning portfolio. Click on the download icon and follow the on-screen instuctions.
All our pre-workshop materials and updates for programmes are also available as downloadble PDF documents.

Accessing e-learning programmes
To use our e-learning programmes, first you have to register on to our website. Once you are registered, log in using your RPSGB number and password. The programmes are available for free to pharmacists and registered pharmacy technicians in England.
BNF e-updates
In 2009 we launched the first BNF e-update, which was developed in collaboration with the team at the British National Formulary (BNF). We have continued this collaboration, and this unique e-learning resource will be released every six months as a new edition of the BNF is published.
Each new version of the BNF community e-update and BNF hospital e-update will include ten clinical case studies with short answer questions, for community and hospital pharmacy respectively.
Each programme takes around 45 minutes to complete and will easily help you to keep up to date with the most recent changes in the BNF.
To access the BNF e-updates for community or hospital settings, click on e-learning portfolio in the left-hand menu.
