Open learning programmes

Learning style

Our open learning format:

• allows you to complete the programme in your own time
• is divided into sections, making them easier to work through
• use exercises, practice points and case studies to help you develop and extend your learning.

We have open learning programmes within most of our themes, and most are  (some are designated ).

Ordering open learning programmes

Most of the programmes are paper-based learning materials that can be downloaded from the CPPE website or posted directly to you. Some, however, are only available as a downloadable PDF. You can order them from this website. First, register or log in if you haven't already. Then choose a programme using one of the options in the left-hand menu.

How long will my order take?

We will aim to deliver the programme to you within 28 days of your order being placed. You can always check the status of your order by going to the check my orders and bookings page.

Can programmes be sent to an address other then my home address?

You can set up a different delivery address for programmes and pre-event materials sent in the post. Go to the my details page and select a different delivery address. We will continue to use your address as supplied by the RPSGB for newsletters and correspondance, including event/workshop confirmation letters.

Supporting you, your practice and the NHS

When creating an open learning programme, we look at how it will contribute to both your own professional development and to the overall improvment of NHS services. In our open learning programmes you will see a diagram similar to the one on the right, which indicates how the programme can be used to support areas of practice. 

E-assessments

Many of our open learning programmes now have associated e-assessments for you to complete once you have worked through the programme. Successful completion of our e-assessments can be used as evidence of knowledge and skills within that area of practice.

You can access e-assessments from your my CPPE record or from the e-assessment portfolio.

Quality and updates

We review all our programmes regularly and assign a programme guardian to them. Many now have updates these are available as a PDF document. They can be found in the programme download list or, if you are registered with CPPE on this website, we will email you updates for programmes you have ordered.
